Marcos Franz

Marcos Franz is a Catalan film and television actor and musician, known for his role as Gerard Piguillem on the TV3 series Merlin.

From the age of 6 to 9 years old he played the piano and at the age of 15, he also learned to play the guitar. He also knows how to play bass. In October 2016 he released his first album Start, with songs in Catalan and English. At the age of 11, he began taking drama and singing classes, and debuted with Agustí Vila's film La mosquitera in 2010, where he plays the adolescent Luis who lives between discussions with his parents, played by Emma Suárez and Eduard Fernández. In 2012 he studied musical theater and in 2013 and 2014 he studied acting in Barcelona. His most prominent role was that of Gerard, a nervous boy madly in love with his classmate Monica.
(Julia Cruces), in the TV3 series Merlin (2015-2018). He also played the second season, where he becomes more calm and confident and where another girl, Osaka (Laia Manzanares), follows him. He also participated in the third and final season of the series.

In 2016 he participated in Rome in 4 episodes of the series The Young Pope, starring Jude Law and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, where he plays a Spaniard who wants to study to be a priest at the Vatican, Angelo Sánchez. The fall of 2016 ended the filming in Prague of the History Channel period series Knightfall (2017), where he plays Prince Louis of Catalonia. In 2017 he was one of the actors selected in the Blood Red Carpet of the Sitges Festival, which each year selected 3 actors and 3 actresses that he considers emerging figures. In 2020 he played David Martos, a boy who works secretly in the exhumation of a common grave where he believes his family is and that he is murdered, in the TV3 and À Punto La fosa series.
